Lips care in winter
February 20, 2019

Winter can prove to be a real harsh time of the year for your lips.
The cold breeze, the chilling air and dry, heated air inside all connive to make your lips dry and tight.
On top of that, when we go out in the cold, the mouth is normally among the last things we cover up. We ensure to cover the rest of our body, but our lips usually are exposed.
Lips are a special type of skin that is thin and delicate – and so crave for a little extra care. Since our lips dry out ten times faster than the rest of the skin on our face so it’s of paramount importance to take extra care of it.
Here are some simple tips that will help you to take care of your lips all winter long:
- Don’t lick your lips.
- Use a lip balm that is ointment-based.
- Avoid lip balms containing camphor, eucalyptus and menthol.
- Avoid brushing or rubbing your lips when they are flaky or peeling.
- Treat cracks right away.
- At night, apply lip balm before you go to bed.
